Homeless Services Assistance in Will County, Illinois

If an individual or family is homeless on the streets or residing in an emergency shelter, transitional housing program, permanent supportive housing program, or rapid rehousing program they may be eligible for assistance through Homeless Services.

If a individual or family is about to be on the streets, in a place not meant for human habitation, or access emergency shelter services, limited services may be available to assist them to retain their rental unit or to be placed into a new rental unit.

Assessment for Services and Case Management

Staff is able to complete an assessment for services and provide case management to promote self-sufficiency in the household. Together, the case manager and family formulate the steps and resources needed to achieve their goals.

 

Homeless Services Program Services May Include:

The Homeless Services Program works to fill the “gaps” to help individuals and families overcome barriers to exiting homelessness, including:

  • Completing the Coordinated Assessment
  • Obtaining identification
  • Employment
  • Education
  • Health
  • Other related expenses that resources are otherwise unavailable in the community
  • Identify housing

Appointments are held Monday through Friday from 8am – 3pm on a walk-in basis.
